Everything You Need to Know About Our Alaskan Cruise with Princess Cruises
We recently embarked on a 7-day Alaskan Cruise with Princess Cruises on the Discovery Princess along the famous Alaska Inside Passage route, and it was absolutely incredible. Here's your complete guide and itinerary highlights to help you plan your own unforgettable adventure!
Day 1: Seattle Departure & Exploring the City
Our cruise departed round-trip from Seattle. Before boarding, we maximized our morning by exploring iconic local spots:

Day 2: Sea Day & Formal Night
Our first full day onboard was relaxing at sea, offering plenty of time to explore the Discovery Princess. It was also formal night, so we enjoyed dressing up and experiencing an elegant dinner.
Day 3: Juneau & Dog Sledding Adventure
In Juneau, we experienced our absolute favorite excursion: Juneau Helicopter Tour & Dogsledding Experience. Truly unforgettable!
We wrapped up the day with dinner reservations at the popular restaurant, The Hangar on the Wharf, enjoying stunning water views.
Day 4: Skagway Adventures & Scenic Railway
In Skagway, we had an action-packed day:
Grizzly Falls Ziplining Expedition (highly recommend!)
Delicious lunch at Skagway Brewing Company
The iconic White Pass Scenic Railway excursion in the evening—a must-do in Skagway.
Day 5: Cruising Glacier Bay
Another day at sea brought us through breathtaking Glacier Bay. This destination alone makes cruising Alaska worth it. The scenery was spectacular—make sure your cruise includes Glacier Bay!
Day 6: Ketchikan's Coastal Cruise & Oyster Tasting
Our last Alaskan port was Ketchikan. Here we chose the Exclusive Coastal Cruise and Oyster Farm tour, complete with an ocean-to-table tasting. Afterward, we explored the charming town and enjoyed lunch at Alaska Fish House.
Day 7: Exploring Victoria, Canada
Our final port was the charming city of Victoria, Canada. With limited time, we skipped formal excursions and instead took a spontaneous private two-hour taxi tour directly from the port—a fantastic way to see Victoria's highlights quickly.
